Opossums are naturally highly resistant to rabies, parvo and distemper and superpowers against snakes. They have partial or total immunity to the venom produced by rattlesnakes, cottonmouths and other pit vipers. Additionally the natural LTNF (lethal toxin neutralizing factor) from opossum blood has the potential to be a universal therapy for envenomation caused by animals (snakebite), plants and bacteria.  Scientists have long known that opossums were resistant to snakebite and the antivenom derived from this serum is designated “Oprin.”   So our little white-faced friends are now becoming worldwide celebrities!
